I love this microwave. It’s our second one. I’ll get to that in a bit. We searched far and wide for a microwave that has all the things we wanted – good size, 1000+ Wattage, door handle, one touch start, good quality, low noise level, nothing fancy, nice looking and, most importantly, affordable price. This fit all the boxes. It heated everything pretty quickly and well. We were very happy with it.
It lasted 3.5 years before it, all of sudden, stopped working. It randomly developed this weird hijink where when you opened the door it turned on. Then in a few weeks it blew out. We regretted not getting a purchase protection on it. It worked great until it didn’t. Frustrating. But it’s a great little microwave when it works and it had everything we wanted in it. So we bought another one, this time with a protection plan. The new one works great so far. It’s actually quieter than the older one ever was and we are very happy about that. I don’t know if it will last long as I don’t suspect most microwaves around this price range ever really do. Toshiba’s quality control and manufacturing is lacking for sure and it’s upsetting that a microwave can blow out so quickly. But, we pretty much pidgeonholed ourselves by loving this one so we are happily and unhappily stuck with it.
I recommended it, but I also warn you that you may or may not get a faulty one and have to deal with a broken microwave. Get a protection plan. 5 stars for when it works and 1 star for if it breaks. If you end up loving it when it works…then, well, welcome to my boat.

Iāve been using the product link since April 2021, and it has been a dependable addition to my kitchen. Hereās my experience:
Pros:
Essential Functions: While I donāt use all the bells and whistles, the core functionalitiesādefrosting, heating, and sensor cookingāwork flawlessly. Itās great to have reliable basics.
Efficiency: The microwave efficiently does its job without any fuss. Itās become an essential part of my daily routine.
Things to consider thought :
Limited Exploration: Since I havenāt explored all the features, I canāt speak to their performance. However, for what I need, itās been excellent.
If youāre looking for a straightforward microwave that gets the job done, this one is worth considering. Itās not overly complicated, and sometimes simplicity is the key to satisfaction.

Received this on 6 July. As of today, 10 July have only used it in the microwave and air fryer modes.
The microwave is only 1000 watts, output power. I think my old microwave was 1100 watts. So it seems the Toshiba takes a bit more time cooking things than my old microwave.
I’ve need to get a few ceramic and/or glass cookware that are microwave-air-fryer-convection safe. This is mostly due the 1.0 cubic foot interior and of course the 12″ round turntable. Some of my older cookware are to large for the Toshiba, as they were for a convential size oven.
The Toshiba has a reversible style rack and a perforated cooking pan for use, “except” in the microwave mode. However, the one thing I think would have been nice, is a solid bottom pan to use for cooking and/or as a drip pan. I found a pan, yet to arrive at this posting, which is a metal pan, that fits the turntable to catch any drips or food droppings. The pan is “Kick Ash Grill Pan”. Plus I bought some aluminium. round, disposible pans to use also.
The Toshiba has a rotating knob that starts the appliance as well as to select cooking power and time. As pointed out, in another review, you can only increment the time after setting cooking mode/power, using the rotating knob, at 5 sec intervals. So is you want an odd time like 1:13, you can only get 1:10, or 1:15. I guess no big deal. Now this knob can also be used in this manner. You push the knob and it automatically starts the microwave, in full power, and at 30 secs. Push the knob again and you can increase the time by 30 sec intervals with each push. I just hope this knob holds up as it will endure a lot of use due to this design feature.
I thnk this microwave is just right for a single person or maybe a couple. who would like miarowave-air fryer-convection cooking options.
As a safety measure, always use hot mitts when removing the cookware and racks.
I’m giving it 4 stars for now. Later, after more use of the unit and features, I may have to change that rating. We’ll see.
Update. Since the Toshiba did not come with and sort of drip pan I searched for a product that would serve that purpose whe using the air-fryer or convection oven function. I found a great and sturday pan fron Kick Ash found here in Amazon. It sits upon the turntable perfectly. Has 3 “dimples” in the pan that serve to raise the pan up from the turntable, allowing air flow. Now I can keep the Toshiba safe from grease drips.

I bought this in order to have a larger and more powerful microwave. Old one was 700 watts I think which I could not use for popcorn. According to my dog this problem needed to be addressed! He likes catching the popcorn in midair. Or on the ground under the table etc. we are both happy with this microwave so far. It cooks fast and reheats fast. Also I donāt have to duck down to see inside it like my old one. It could use a few more buttons for common uses on the front. It seems my old one had more. Not a major flaw to me. And itās SO quiet! Iāve never used a microwave this quiet in anyoneās home before. Lovely!

This microwave replaces another built-in that gave out. What I like best about this unit is I can silence that noisy beeper. I like a keypad beeper, but this unit silences all beeps, or turns on all beeps. My original unit was built in to the cabinet. With a couple of 2X4 scraps, I centered the microwave to fit in the opening, and now looks like it came with the house.
The one touch buttons for 1, 2, and 3 minutes come in handy, and if you need an extra 30 seconds, just press the Start/30 sec button. If you have a special cooking time/power you frequently use, you can program this in the “Custom Cook” button to use over and over. The turntable keeps the food cooking evenly and the interior is illuminated by a very white LED lamp.

Have had this microwave for about a month now, bought it to replace my 20-year old Panasonic that had suddenly started taking much longer to heat. Chose this because it also has the convection/air fryer function. The ‘regular’ oven function works great – heats fast (minutes) and cooks well (chicken wings, roasted garlic) – very useful alternative to using a full oven. The microwave timer is set with a dial, and changes time increments as you pass 60 seconds, 5 min, etc. This is a bit annoying, but only because I am used to entering an exact number on the keypad of my last oven. Still getting used to the individual features and “quirks’ of this oven, so I keep the manual close by. Clock very easy to set. Stainless steel interior is easy to clean, but recommend always covering the top of ‘messy’ food as the ceiling of the oven has an element, making it harder to access for cleaning.

Purchased this a couple weeks ago, and so far it’s my favorite m/w oven ever! Yes, I did read the manual. I’m a retired tech writer, and IMHO the user guide is very well written, only has a few places where I would have said it differently or added more information. All the functions make perfect sense to me. The soften /melt function works perfectly, no more splattering of butter as it’s melting. Quick start for anything covered by either 30 second increments or 1 to 6 minutes is super easy.
The only thing I’m not seeing is a quick way to boil a cup of water for tea or instant hot chocolate. I mean, I can experiment, but maybe there’s a shortcut to do that? But that’s a small thing. Overall, very, very happy with this one.
