After researching many vent hoods I decided to purchase a Hauslane UC-PS18 and I’m glad I did. Sleek design, powerful suction, easy to use controls and easy to remove washable filters makes this a great buy. I definitely recommend this vent.

Since my family prefers a certain style of cooking, we have to use high-BTU cooktop to sautee and deep fry, which produce a lot of smoke and odor. Therefore, a high-CFM range hood is a necessity in our kitchen. Popular Asian range hoods tend to focus on function but often lack aesthetics. I was happy to find the Hauslane PS18, which has a slim, modern look and practical features. It motivated us to replace our still-functioning range hood.
Before installing, we tested the range hood, and everything worked well and looked solid. To install the 37-pound unit, we used a cooler and a car jack, which made the process much easier. Our main challenge was the ducting: our old range hood used a 7-inch duct, but the Hauslane requires a 6-inch duct, and its opening was 1-2 inches off from the old one. We had to buy a 6″ to 7″ duct increaser and heavy-duty metal cutter shears. It took several trial-and-error attempts to connect the ducting to the Hauslane damper, and the entire process took us 2-3 hours and two trips to the hardware store.
Attaching the range hood itself was easier. There are six screws to attach it to the cabinet; we used only four, which were secure enough. For the back two screws, we needed a mini cordless screwdriver to predrill the holes (starting with a smaller drill bit and then a larger one, since the screwdriver is only 4V).
The final result was rewarding. One minor issue was that the original 3W GU-10 LED light had a buzzing sound and was too dim for our needs. We replaced them with 4W, 120-degree beam angle GU-10 bulbs, which were perfect. The 6-speed fan operates at 60-69dB (measured by my Apple Watch), which is not too loud. I appreciate the dishwasher-safe baffle filter, they are much better than the old mesh filter. Overall, I am happy with the Hauslane PS18 for its aesthetic look, practical function, and low maintenance.

I have always wanted a hood that actually vents to the outside. I don’t love going to bed with the smell of ground beef in my bedroom. So, when I had to get a new stove and started looking for a range hood to match, I found Hauslane.
We love the way it looks, sounds and works! I had a professional install the vent to the outside of the house. A cabinet maker made modifications so we could install the hood 30” above the stove. (Doesn’t it look great?) Hauslane has passed the test with fried foods, smoky pans, and strong spicy aromas.

This is a great hood, it’s capacity is incredible and is relatively low noise. When using in low speeds you can hold a conversation without raising your voice volume.
The lights position is a great idea, better than my previous that was closer to the wall.
Installation was easy and the hardest part was to raise it alone, but I could have asked for help.

I bought this to replace my current range hood and wished I had bought it in the first place. It’s a beast in a small package because of its dual motor fans. I like the touch screen on/off buttons and the matte white color a perfect match for my kitchen.

It’s been little over a month with this product installed and using daily. We cook every day and this thing is amazing. No smell at all inside the house event though you deep fry the food. The design is very handsome. I had little trouble during the installation because I did not have the right tool. There are 2 powerful fan that suck out all the smell from kitchen. Loved this and I have recommended som of my friends as well.

When our over the range microwave/range hood broke I was tired of its inadequate performance at venting steam, smoke and grease to the outside. It was normal for our smoke detector to do off when frying and our cupboards were always covered in a film of grease. Not anymore, this hood is quieter (not quiet) and does a great job of venting to the outside. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

My PS18 range hood arrived the end of January 2024, in perfect condition. A new roof vent was installed the next day, 6 inch ductwork installed and final hook up the next week. It replaced an over the range microwave that exhausted grease all over the front of the cabinets and wall above.
It is the best investment made for our kitchen. The PS18 is very quiet, even on the highest setting. The second setting above the lowest removes everything for normal cooking. Yesterday my wife baked dinner at 425, and used the front gas burners, with the setting set on the same second speed. The first time in 5 years that the smoke detectors did not go off with the oven at this cooking temperature. The exhaust suction is great. The digital buttons are easy to use. The 2 lights really light up the stove area while cooking, which is super nice.
The 3 minute timer for the exhaust fan, at the end of cooking is perfect for removing left over heat and smoke.
We are very very happy with this purchase.

I bought this as part of our kitchen update. We got new countertops, and have been changing appliances to black. The old exhaust fan was noisy. The Hauslane matches everything and looks really good. Love the extra fan speeds that allow less noise. The touch features are great. The installation was easy, and the instructions were easy to follow. The only problem we had is that the plug for the power cord is larger than the 1′ hole that was in the instructions. We had to drop the unit and make the hole bigger. We scuffed the wall paint doing this, so will have to do a bit of touch up.

I bought th3 hood online and it arrived quickly, within 3 days. I installed it myself. Just a caveat for those who are thinking of doing that, make sure you have a lift to raise the hood in place. Or have a friend help you out. If you’re handy, installation takes no more than an hour, including removal of the old hood & clean-up.
I really like my PS18. I cook and bake big batches and like to experiment with different recipes. With my old hood, I needed to open the windows and door to create cross ventilation… no need for that with the PS18. Just set it to the highest speed and no smell anywhere in the house, no more smells on my clothes. Even works when searing a steak!
Some folks have said it’s loud… It has two large fans that move air. Some fan noise is to be expected… just turn up the music š
